Homecoming Princess: Aly Batista

Involved in many extracurricular activities and even captain of the varsity cheer team, it is no surprise that Aly Batista was nominated for Homecoming court this year.

Batista, a senior at CHS, has never been afraid to jump in and get involved. She has been in the yearbook and Interact Club for her entire four years of high school, recently joined ASB this year, and is a member of the Impact Club and Cultural Food Club.

While juggling school and putting 110 percent into everything she does, Batista is also captain of the varsity cheerleading team. Out of all the clubs and organizations she is a part of, cheer has always been one of her favorites. This is because of her love for dance as well as being on the sidelines with her friends.

Starting at a young age, she has always wanted to pursue being a nurse and
helping others while making an impact on the ongoing research for oncologists. Batista hopes to bring joyfulness to kids who deal with cancer.

“Ever since I was little I have always wanted to be someone who could help others and have loved working with kids,” said Batista. “I want to be able to help kids and make an impact on this world.”

Batista is excited to be on court, alongside her friends who have also made the finalists selection.

“I want to shout out to all my amazing friends who made court and say thank you to everyone who thought of me because it really made my day,” said Batista.

She is excited to be a part of this process and while she would be overjoyed to win, she also roots for her fellow court members and believes that everyone on court deserves to win.
