Hong Kong to Claremont and now off to Paris and the University of Southern California, Gabrielle Kim has truly seen it all. Known for her out-of-this-world comedic personality and supreme music taste, USC is beyond lucky to be soon graced with her presence.
On campus, Kim serves as the vice president of the National Honor Society and is the captain of the swim team. Off campus Kim can often be found going on spontaneous side quests with her friends, watching the sunset at Laguna and cherishing every last moment of high school.
Out of the many memories Kim has of time at CHS, one in particular stands out: qualifying for CIF with the swim team her senior year. She and her teammates heard the news while taking prom pictures and immediately burst into excitement, embracing each other.
Before Kim begins her time at USC’s main campus, she plans on spending her fall semester in a travel abroad program at the American University in Paris.
“It’s a super cool opportunity. There’s a small cohort of USC students there, and it’s a really nice opportunity to, on a practical note, fulfill and require my GES, but also, get a very different experience from what it’s like to live in Paris.” Kim said, on the program.
Kim would like to thank everyone who has made her two years at CHS unforgettable.
“I want to shout out to everyone, all my friends, all my teammates who have made my experience here at Claremont High School,” Kim said. “It’s only been two years, but it’s been the best two years of my life. I’m grateful for everyone I’ve met who has just made my experience so much fun and so meaningful.”
And as for her holy grail advice, Kim would like to share,
“Enjoy every moment, even the bad ones. There’s a silver lining to everything. Everything goes by much faster than you realize. Enjoy every second, all the time.”
Whatever she does and wherever she goes, Kim is sure to bring her indomitable spirit. And as for the great question of how her friends will get by without her Spotify jams, only time will tell.
