Moxie Moore brings her moxie to Sarah Laurence

Moxie Moore, with her rock star style, artistic talent, and retro vibe, has always been destined for New York;now, she is excited to be studying film at Sarah Laurence College in Bronxville, New York next fall. Throughout high school, Moore has been deeply involved in the arts and theater program since her freshman year. Moore is excited to carry that experience forward into college as she hopes to become either a film director or writer.Sarah Laurence College attracted Moore with its small size, as she appreciates the community and creative student body.

Although Moore is excited for college, she will also miss Claremont High School dearly. Memorable moments from Moore’s high school experience include Friday night football games, being voted on to the Homecoming Court, and her times performing on the stage at the Bridges Auditorium as a part of the CHS musicals. Moore has  performed on stage in plays and musicals as a part of both the musical theatre and advanced acting courses. Working backstage in tech has been another contribution Moore has made to the CHS theatre program, and she is a valued member of the community. Moore is not only a thespian for Thespian Troop 2129 but has also been an Thespian officer working as the troops’ social media manager for the past two years, attending the International Thespian Festival in Indiana last summer. This year, Moore has performed in Climate Change Theatre Action, Elephant Man, and as a lead in the Between The Lines.

Moore, having already completed her four years, carries wisdom for underclassmen.

“Do not get it in your head that you will have senioritis,” Moore said. “It is important to try your senior year, even though it does not feel like it, because you still have to graduate. You have to at least pass your classes and it is your last year of high school, you got to make it count.” Moore has always loved the high school experience and will miss her community, her freedom, and her friends, but she is also excited to leave Claremont and explore the world.

Nick Godwin
Nick Godwin, Reporter
Nick Godwin is a sophomore at Claremont High School and is in his first year as a Reporter for the Wolfpacket. Godwin joined the Wolfpacket staff because of his love for writing, which he not only exhibits during school hours but also during her free time. Along with writing, a large part of Godwin’s time is devoted to musical theater at CHS. He not only enjoys performing on stage, but also likes helping create sets for the productions and working with the technology behind the scenes. Godwin is also fascinated with nature, especially plants, and spends much of his time walking around Claremont to get to school, to play with his dog, or just as a fun pastime. He especially enjoys walking in Claremont because it is a very different environment from other cities he has grown up in, as he recently moved to Claremont from a rural town in Minnesota, promptly before starting his freshman year at CHS. Godwin is excited to spend his time with the rest of the Wolfpacket staff this school year!
