Claremont High School’s very own varsity dance member Allison Viramontes is going to Loyola Marymount University (LMU) and double majoring in Dance and Business Management with the goal of becoming a professional choreographer in the general film media industry.
Viramontes has been dancing since she was two years old, and it started her on the path of becoming a choreographer. Throughout her years of dancing, she learned that she loved the creative side of dance and loved coming together with other people in both dance and theatre.
Being on the CHS dance team this year has been a great experience for Viramontes. “I just really enjoyed my entire time on it this year,” Viramontes said.
Aside from dance, she was in Link Crew and theater at CHS. Outside of school, she does dance and is a part of the National Charity League, a program that supports other charities, which she has been in since seventh grade.
Her one tip for all the students here at CHS is to be involved in clubs and other activities. “You just meet so many different people,” Viramontes said. “You get a much better high school experience by doing different stuff, because you’re doing things that you love with people who love it just as much as you, and that just makes high school so much better.”
