As graduation approaches, Claremont High School senior Aryan Bhadauria is preparing to take the next step in his academic journey at Amherst College, Massachusetts, where he plans to study Philosophy. Reflecting on his high school journey, Bhadauria’s experience was defined by academic curiosity, meaningful friendships, and personal growth. After transferring to CHS from Western Christian as a freshman to join the tennis team, Bhadauria initially found CHS intimidating because of its size, but he quickly connected with classmates and built lasting friendships.
Throughout high school, Bhadauria immersed himself in a variety of activities, joining clubs such as Key Club, Chess Club, Red Cross, and Science Olympiad. He competed in AMC, played varsity tennis all four years, conducted bioinformatics research through a summer program at Columbia University, completed additional research on tumor complexity with a New York laboratory, and founded Educate to Elevate, a nonprofit dedicated to expanding educational access in underserved communities. Now, Bhadauria begins to narrow his focus to mathematics, a longtime passion of his.
Bhadauria’s junior year featured an especially rigorous courseload that challenged his balance between academics and personal life.
“It ultimately taught me not to take school too seriously and [to] prioritize balance,” said Bhadauria.
Among his favorite high school memories are the bus rides home from tennis matches and an unforgettable game of hide-and-seek at Target with his varsity teammates. As he prepares to leave CHS, Bhadauria would like to thank Ms. Beth Bodnar for her constant support and Mr. Jeremy Troesh for his guidance, humor, and encouragement.
Finally, Bhadauria shares advice for incoming freshmen.
“Make sure… not to procrastinate and be really proactive in pursuing your goals,” said Bhadauria. “Never hesitate to reach out to teachers, because they genuinely want to see their students succeed.”
