Everyone at Claremont High School has seen her dyed “halo hair,” her enviably stylish wardrobe and her matcha always in hand. But, Fiona Wu is more than meets the eye, and next fall she is on her way to Princeton University majoring in political science. As this year’s Speech and Debate team captain, Public Forum captain and Women’s Legion of Voters president, it is no question that she is a natural born leader, something Wu will surely continue to be.
As Wu is making her way to the East Coast, she has a lot of change in store, but as an avid traveler, she is very excited for this new chapter of her life.
“The food in NYC will appear all over my Beli account and I will be reviewing food,” Wu said. “I’m really excited about the side quests that I get to do.” Despite Wu’s excitement for her new life, she still has precautions.
“[I am] kind of nervous about housing and risking it with the roommate that I am going to be assigned with next fall.” Wu said.
Contrary to this fear, Wu is a social butterfly that has no problem charming whoever she meets. While there will be plenty of exciting new experiences, Wu will miss her life in Los Angeles.
“I definitely have a lot of […] fun memories that I am going to be leaving in […] the concert scene in LA.” Wu said. “[It] Feels super weird being so far away”
But Wu also has some of her favorite memories here at Claremont High School as well.
“[…] cramming for AP and IB testing last minute and going to Honnold library until closing to write college applications with friends,” Wu said. “I am going to reminisce on my freshman year English class when I got to make a really funny table group squad.”
When asked who she wanted to shoutout, Wu had no trouble coming up with names.
“[…] shout out to core four iykyk, the gang who ended up going with me to LA sidequests, and my foreign player from DBHS,” said Wu.
Wu will continue to be the extraordinary person and leader that anyone would have been grateful to know. She is reliable, kind, oh-so-trendy, but most importantly, someone that can make a lasting impact on anyone she meets. CHS will never find another Fiona Wu, and she will be missed by her friends, teachers and peers alike.
