Over the past four years, Claremont High School (CHS) has been home to many successful football players, with one of the most notable being Bix Lazar. During his three years on Claremont High’s Varsity football team, Lazar has made many memories. By far, his favorite one has been being on the bus to Palm Springs for a CIF game with his teammates.
“It was nice to have everyone united and together,” Lazar said.
Aside from the community that was built during his years on the football team, Lazar will miss other friends that he sees daily in the halls or during social hours. He would especially like to shout out his friend Jake Bickham and his girlfriend Fiona Bulmer for always being there for him. For Lazar, being a senior has been very exciting, and although the year is coming to an end, he will always remember his four years at CHS. During these years, he has learned to truly appreciate high school. For this reason, he would advise any incoming freshman to make sure to stay off their phones and live in the moment; high school goes by faster than anyone thinks, and no one will ever get their last years of adolescence back.
Although high school will remain nostalgic, Lazar also looks forward to new opportunities in college. In the fall of 2026, he will be attending the University of Chicago, where he will continue his football journey and major in economics.
“I’m excited to get out of the state, have a fresh, new start and meet a bunch of new people.” Lazar said.
Following college, he hopes to work as an economic consultant for a large company.
As many seniors can confirm, time has flown by. However, Bix Lazar has made the most of his high school career. Although he will be over a 24-hour drive away from Claremont High, the memories and friends that he has made throughout his four years of high school will continue to remind him of how far he has come.
