Homecoming Princess: Kareen Holstrom

“Making memories myself is important, but seeing other people do the same is probably the most memorable thing,” ASB president and Homecoming Court member, Kareen Holstrom said. And her many roles on campus reflect this motto.
A social and service-oriented person, Holstrom has involved herself in many activities across campus as a member of Interact, Voices for Change, and the Captain of Girls Varsity Tennis. This will be her fourth year in ASB, being class president for her Freshman and Sophomore years, and ASB secretary Junior year. It will also be third year playing for the tennis team, visiting the CIF finals multiple times. Despite being so involved, her activities are never a bother, as she feels most herself whenever she is with the people she cares about.
Outside of school, Holstrom loves to read, journal, spend time with her friends, and finds joy in any art-related projects she picks up.
As a member of this year’s homecoming court, Holstrom is excited to show Freshmen and Sophomores (whose first homecoming is this year) what homecoming looks like. Though balancing her responsibilities to the court and ASB has been tricky, Holstrom believes in her team in ASB to take on the extra responsibility.
She would like to give a shout out to ASB director, Mr. Hernandez, who has led ASB through this year with lots of passion, pushing them to give the school the best year possible. She would also like to shout out Mrs. Forester in the ASB office who is retiring this year. Holstrom is grateful to both Hernandez and Forester for being driving forces in the success of ASB.
