Vincent Nguyen is a senior who was dared to run for prom court and figured there was nothing to lose. Nguyen has been a part of the Avid program for two years, played on the basketball team his junior year and was the manager of the team his senior year. Outside of school you will find Nguyen volunteering at shelters for domestic abuse victims, elementary schools, and tutoring younger kids.
“When my name was called during the prom rally I was confused and questioned if I really won it,” Nguyen said.
The most important things for Nguyen are God, family, friends, relationships in general, and making sure that he’s always the best person he can be. After highschool, Nguyen will be attending California State University, Fullerton to study pre-business with a focus in business administration and management. He would like to thank his brother Kevin, who’s been a good role model and influence.
“I would also like to thank my best friend Roy because he’s the best friend I could ever ask for,” Nguyen said.
Additionally went on to thank his friend also on prom court, Brandon Armas for convincing him to run for prom court. If Nguyen gave one piece of advice for incoming freshmen, it would be to stay on top of your work and not take anything for granted.
