Luci Wendra is one of many Claremont High School (CHS) seniors excited to attend University of California, Irvine this upcoming fall. Majoring in art history, Wendra is staying close to what she holds passion for. However, she has many differing ideas for what her future will look like.
“I chose the closest thing that aligned with what I already liked (art)… I want to change my major, though.”
Despite being unsure of her major, Wendra still continues to explore her options and all the opportunities provided to her at the competitive UC Irvine. Throughout her high school experience, she was often found hanging out with friends, making memories she will never forget.
“I’ll miss my friends and teachers I’ve made close bonds with,” Wendra said. “I’ll miss being able to look forward to seeing them every day.I think my favorite day was Senior ditch day at the beach. I just wish it didn’t make my hair sticky.” she noted, pointing out how the only thing she did not like was the sea salt.
Outside of school, Wendra enjoys things like drawing, listening to music, taking photos on her digital camera, traveling to other countries, and trying new snacks and drinks.
“[I also liked] getting fun drinks with Natalie Huynh almost every other weekend.” Huynh is also a senior at CHS, attending University of California Los Angeles in the fall. Despite the distance that graduation brings between people, Wendra still plans to make time for her high school friends.
When asked for any advice for upcoming seniors and high schoolers in general, Wendra replied, “Just don’t slack off on assignments. The senioritis legends are true.” It’s a common theme how many seniors procrastinate halfway through the year.
To finish her time at CHS, Wendra wanted to shout out “my friends, and the school apple berry juice,” Wendra said. “I wish I could take 5 cartons per lunch.”
