High School is a time of fun, stress, and transformation. Thanks to the staff of the Claremont High School (CHS) yearbook, students can look back on their high school years after graduation and reminisce through documented photos of each school year. Just in time for Earth Day, Yearbook’s mission has also shifted to include protecting the environment. This year, the paper used to manufacture the yearbooks has been specially chosen to be environmentally friendly.
Tara Neemuchwala, a junior at CHS and editor-in-chief of the yearbook staff, shared the yearbook’s new achievement.
“All yearbooks are printed on Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified paper, meaning all paper is certified to be created with zero deforestation, supports conservation efforts, community rights, and fair…work environments,” Neemuchwala said. “The yearbook is dedicated to sustainability and works actively to maintain climate-active practices given Claremont’s commitment to sustainability practices.”
With new FSC-certified paper, CHS graduates can look back on their high school years, remembering that communities such as the yearbook are determined to make our world more sustainable.
