Calling all book lovers! Looking for a new place to get books? Claremont’s To Be Read is just the place. Also known as TBR, this just-opened bookstore is located on 987 W Foothill Blvd in Claremont, California. TBR mostly sells books in the fantasy, romance, and dark romance genres, as well as book-related merchandise such as hair accessories, book grafts, tote bags, shirts, and more.
Claremont High School freshman Colette Keating, a book lover, enjoys the romance options at TBR. “I haven’t personally gone yet, but I’ve been wanting to go this week,” Keating said. “The aesthetics are there. They’ve ordered so many books […] they want to connect with other book lovers in the specific genre that they’re specializing in.”
TBR is owned and operated by sisters Liana Colon and Lolli Larissa-Rigore. They were able to make their dreams come true when they opened their shop on April 11, 2026. Both have had a lifelong passion for reading, and the next step was always to share that passion with others. Liana Colon, one of the co-owners, has been wanting to open a bookstore for about two to three years.
“That’s kind of what bonded my sister and me, we were 11 years apart, so we really weren’t that close growing up,” Cologne said. “We went to a book convention called Book Bonanza, over in Texas, […] we kind of bonded over books and romance books and just all the different stuff we read. And then we’ve been talking about it for a while.”
It is clear that Claremont is excited to welcome a new bookstore, a place for all readers to unite and get lost in books full of romance.
