Bella Jakini’s (Soph) Story
My dad forced me to take piano lessons when I was younger. I did not enjoy them all because I couldn’t understand a thing my instructor tried to teach me. It felt like they were speaking an entirely different language. I learned very little about playing piano after my classes, so I decided I would never attempt to play piano again. Since I could not seem to learn, I decided to stop trying.
About six years ago, I began to understand and be more involved in music, so I decided to teach myself piano. To this day, out of all the instruments I can play, the piano is my favorite. I learned that my commitment to the instrument influenced me to overcome my negative thoughts of the piano. This helped me accomplish something I never thought I would be able to do.
