Girls’ Water Polo Kelly Sanhagen

The students at CHS have many strengths academically, but as well as physically. Students are dedicated to both their schoolwork and our sports system, but in reality, it would not be the same without the parent boosters who continuously dedicate their time and effort to the sport teams here at CHS. One helper in particular is Kelly Sandhagen who is booster for the CHS girls water polo team.
Sandhagen joined 2 years ago, when her daughter decided to join the water polo team as an incoming freshman along with the fact that there were not enough people. As a result, Sanhagen decided to help out the water polo team and support here daughter more than just from the sidelines. Being a mother requires time in itself, but to also be a booster requires heavy commitment. Like many, Sandhagen has a job outside of her parenting life and being a booster, which makes it all the more difficult to balance out time evenly.
“I am also an IT manager along with the parent booster job,” Sandhagen said. “I spend time after lunch and work as a parent booster.”
Being a parent booster is very time-consuming, especially if you have another job. Before being interviewed, she was already very busy, talking to multiple individuals about ways to contact her. Through all the chaos, being a booster has positive notes to it and Sandhagen enjoys it most of the time.
“The best part is watching the girls and supporting them while they play” Sandhagen said.
The team has become a part of her life, and is like a second family to her. For all the parent boosters out there, CHS appreciates all that you do and are glad that you made a decision that makes such a positive impact for the parents and coaches at CHS. Parent boosters like Sandhagen are using valuable time to be helping out our sports community, and they all deserve a big thanks for all the things that they do for the sports teams.
