P.E. Swim Unit Cancelled
As many have noticed, CHS is going through many changes and renovations this year. This year, the swim unit will no longer be part of the P.E. curriculum because the pool is undergoing renovations for multiple reasons based on the quality, and the administration is only allowing the pool to be used by sports teams.
Swimming in P.E. is one of the most important units that many students seem to enjoy. However, there have been many complaints about the cracked bottom and rough texture on the ground which may have contributed to the renovation. Mr. Lynch, a P.E. teacher at CHS, shared his opinion on the topic.
“I feel it’s a shame that we’re not able to do it. Hopefully [the renovation] can change by the end of the year so we can do it by the spring semester,” Lynch said.
Lynch wishes that the P.E teachers could have contributed to the overall decision, but it may be for the better. Though it is possible for it to be renovated by the end of the year, it may not be reasonable considering how long it is taking for the El Roble pool to be renovated.
Hopefully, this renovation will be worth not having a swim unit for a year. The new renovation will be appreciated by all of the students and teachers involved in physical education.
