Homecoming Court: Katie Campbell
Varsity volleyball captain, Link Crew Leader, and a full IB student— Katie Campbell can do it all. Campbell has many areas of passion, including learning, playing beach volleyball, going to the gym, and hanging out with friends. She also loves going on adventures like hikes and beach trips and contributing to her school and community through different philanthropies.
Campbell is very excited and honored to be nominated for homecoming court. She is especially excited to participate in all of the school-related activities for the nominees. If she wins the royalty title, she would be very thrilled, especially since her boyfriend Seth Gonzalez, is also on court.
“I really enjoy everyone on court and it would be so amazing to win with any of them,” Campbell said. “It would be a dream to win with my boyfriend, Seth Gonzalez, because we could both celebrate together and my life would feel like a movie.”
One of her favorite high school memories is going to all the football games and getting all “decked out” for the theme. As captain of the Varsity volleyball team, she loved playing at home games, especially against rival teams. One of her favorite memories was winning a game against Bonita.
“We beat them in 3 sets and the crowd was so loud and wild,” Campbell said.
Her plans after graduation are to attend a four-year university and major either in sports medicine or journalism. She is also currently in the recruiting process to play beach volleyball at the collegiate level. Reflecting on her time in high school, Campbell offers some very insightful advice for freshmen.
“I would advise the freshman to get involved as much as they can,” Campbell said. “Join sports, clubs, and volunteer. Get out of your comfort zone and experience all the different aspects of high school. I would also advise them to manage their time as best they can and to focus on their school work to get good grades so they can set themselves up for a good future. I would also advise them to go to all the football and sports games to make friends and be filled with school spirit.”
Campbell is grateful for friends and family who have been overwhelmingly supportive these past few years. She is happy to get to share her homecoming court experience with them.
“Shout out to my super supportive and loving parents, my best friends Katie Davis and Sam Woodford, and shout out to my boyfriend Seth Gonzalez for being the best ever.”
