Backpacking is an outdoor sport that involves traveling into the wilderness and camping overnight on the trail for a number of days. Backpackers must carry all of their belongings in a large backpack, including their food. To prevent food spoilage, backpackers carry freeze-dried meals instead. Though not as tasty as fresh food, it’s easy to make and carry. All you have to do is add hot water to the meal and wait for 15 minutes.

The Wolfpacket has put together a list of the five best backpacking trails in Southern California. The hope is that this list will be helpful in planning a future trip for any experienced backpackers. But, for any students who haven’t been backpacking, these trails would be a great place to start.
