Fabela Arrested for Murder of Isom Couple in La Verne

The 23-year-old suspect, Luke Fabela, allegedly responsible for the murder of Armie and Shirley Isom, was apprehended on May 6, 2015. Fabela was identified from DNA evidence that linked him to the crime. In January, he was arrested for stealing a vehicle and his DNA was recorded in the police records. The match in DNA between the January crime and the Isom murder led the officers to come to the conclusion that Fabela murdered the couple.

The murder occurred on Dec. 26, when a groundskeeper found 74-year-old Shirley Isom and her husband 89-year-old Armie Isom dead at their large hilltop home in a gated community in the 300 block of Roughrider Road.

Many witness who witnessed the killing were called into the Los Angeles County Police Station to look at a line up of suspects. Fabela was identified by all witnesses and is currently in prison.

After five months of searching, police have finally found their mysterious suspect. Though the person is found, the motive is still unknown. If anyone has any information, please call LA County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.
