From doodles as a kid, to scenic art, Parker Chindlund has loved drawing with passion since childhood. Parker’s creativity and persistence revolving around making theater sets have made her one of the most talented student artists at Claremont High School. At CHS, Chindlund has been involved in several art projects in her theater production class which has sharpened her skills and broadened her artistic vision. These opportunities have permitted her to work with varied materials and techniques; this has been a very strong base for Chindlund. Her theater director, Mr. Mangrio is a very important person in her artistic journey.
“He’s very supportive and influential,” Chindlund said. “He offers help to me if I ever have any questions.”
With each new project, she sets to push herself and learn new things. Parker further contributes to CHS and all the artistic extracurriculars offered, where her artwork lifts and deepens others’ minds with her unique style. This allows her to express herself and reach out to her CHS community. Looking forward to the future, she is excited by the many possibilities that art offers. She contemplates working in an artistic environment in the future. Whether she pursues scenic theater or other forms of art, she is committed to developing her talent.
Support has come from Chindlund’s parents, who have always encouraged her to pursue her dreams, providing her with the impetus to work toward her dreams and also introducing her to her passions. When it comes to beginner artists, hard work and consistency in practicing will lead to improvement. With her dedication and soaring future, Chindlund is a bright source of inspiration to her CHS community.
Looking toward the future, Chindlund is excited about exploring all sorts of possibilities in the world of art. She is considering careers along the lines of working around staying creative and is resolved to transform her passion into something more than a class. Whether she sticks with digital art, drawing, painting, sculpting, or pursues a completely different avenue of creativity, Chindlund will continue to grow and have her voice heard. Her family supports her throughout the journey, encouraging her to pursue her dreams; this motivation helps her aim toward excellence.
“Find what makes you happy and keep doing it,” Chindlund said.
Her commitment and shining prospects put her in a position to inspire the CHS community as a whole.
