Adopting Priceless Pets
There are pets that are loved by their owners, but there are also pets that are abandoned by their owners. Priceless Pets seeks to help the latter by protecting homeless pets from any kind of harm. Their goal is to save every abused or abandoned animal until there are none left to save. CHS student Shelby Greenberg is actively involved in Priceless Pets.
Greenberg is also part of a sub-group called the Pittie Crew that meets once a month and specializes in getting pit bulls adopted. All animals are adopted from any high kill shelters, and they rescue them from any situation in which they might encounter abuse. Founder Elisha Gorman and her family friend recently started Priceless Pets, which not only helps pit bulls to be sent to a safe environment but also helps to rescue other kinds of dogs and cats. Priceless Pets is a non-profit volunteer organization, so all of the money goes directly to the animal care system. CHS students can volunteer by filling out an application at the Priceless Pets website. People can not only volunteer there, but they can also adopt a pet.
“Adoption is also done on a first come, first serve basis and can only be adopted in person. So, it’s best to come earlier, and so that you can get more choices on what pets you want to adopt. Additionally, they provide a low cost vaccination, microchip, and spay/neuter clinics for the pets,” Greenberg said.
As Greenberg continues to share her love and cares for all the pets, she hopes to dedicate her future to saving the lives of animals. She continues to volunteer at Pricless Pets and has created her own club at CHS to help animals.
