“THEY’RE EATING THE DOGS!!! THEY’RE EATING THE CATS!!! THEY’RE EATING THE PETS!!!” These are the allegations made by Donald Trump during the presidential debate where he accused Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio of eating the residents’ pets. While it was said by the monitors of the debate that these accusations were nothing more than false racism at hand, recent evidence has shown otherwise.
Recently, a new restaurant opened up in the city of Springfield.
“Chǒngwù Tāng” (Translates to pet soup), a small Asian restaurant, popped up in the center of Springfield. For only just starting out, the restaurant has hit the ground running. There is always a line to get into the restaurant that wraps and bends around the building and an overall five-star rating from Yelp. However, some customers have found something off about the restaurant. Stephany Smith, a town resident, comments, “Amazing service and delectable food….however, there were quite a lot of strange sounds coming from the kitchen.” After this comment, many others followed and started to realize strange occurrences in the restaurant. One from a man on vacation with his family who decided to stop to eat. He writes, “I was casually enjoying my food when I found CAT HAIR IN MY SOUP! Great food, but I will not deny the fact that there is something strange about that place.” The man continues by saying he doesn’t plan on coming back no matter how good the food was, warning other customers to try to avoid the place. It was then we realized this story goes deeper than it appears at first glance.
Our Wolfpacket team decided to take a look into this ourselves. What we found was unimaginable…
After taking the liberty upon ourselves to travel over to Springfield ourselves we were already greeted by many faces ready to tell us their side of the story. When we asked around the town about the restaurant. Many were hesitant and didn’t tell us much. However, we were approached by some of the employees of the restaurant “Big Whiskey’s American Restaurant” who neighbors Chǒngwù Tāng. They told us of some rather unsettling events that have been unfolding ever since they moved in. Sally Seaheart, a long time waitress says ““There have been some really strange and awful sounds coming from the back of their restaurant. The walls here are thin so we can always hear everything when we are in the kitchen. Normally we just listen to the hot gossip going around whatever restaurant is there, but after the new restaurant moved in…..we can just hear some darn awful yowling or screeching like a cry for help. It’s part of why I stopped my late night shifts. I couldn’t bear it anymore. It was too much to handle all that unholy noise.” Many other waiters and chefs agreed and said that they prefer to work in the mornings and generally try to stay out of the kitchen. After confirming the facts with the rest of the staff and having a delicious pure American meal we headed out to see what else we could find. But before we left the busboy stopped us. He told us that before we left there was one last thing he wanted to show us. The poor boy looked like he was ready to come to tears. He took us to the back where they have a shared dumpster with Chǒngwù Tāng. That’s when we saw it, the horror…..piles and piles of collars from all kinds of pets: cats, dogs, even guinea pigs. He told us he saw it last week when he was taking out the trash. The guilt was too much for him to bear.
After gathering what we did we headed back home. All we can say after these events unfolded is thank you Donald Trump. If it wasn’t for the fact that he had seen right through the horrendous schemes behind the scenes and looking past logic and reason and showing us the true danger right under our noses.
