Every cozy town has a bakery or a coffee shop with baked treats. They are a cornerstone of a comfortable environment, and delicious sweets help lighten any mood. Helping promote this idea, Carlie Bronk, a student at Claremont High, has created CHS’s very own cupcake business.
Carlie Bronk started her business because of her love of the craft of baking. She found her love of baking through sharing her skills with others. To do this, she started her very own student business, called Carlies Cupcakes.
In Bronk’s eyes, her business is an excellent way for her to connect with others in the community, as well as a platform for her passion of baking and helping others. Along with this, there is an added monetary benefit as Bronk uses the money she fundraises from her business for welcome gifts for local refugees, with the hope of welcoming new people to the Claremont community.
While running a business and being in school simultaneously, Bronk has a lot more than dough on her hands. Bronk proves her academic and practical skills by managing her cupcake business all on her own, with incredible success since her sophomore year. Now in her senior year, Bronk has raised over $1,000 for her causes, which is an incredible and uncommon accomplishment for a student-run business. More than just the monetary benefit, Bronk considers her business a success because it has been a source of joy for her. She enjoys what she is doing, and because it makes her happy, it is itself a success.
As a successful student business, Bronk has some advice for those who want to follow in her footsteps, which is to go for it! You will never know how successful you can be if you never try, and going for it allows you to do so much in life.

Tavish N Brodie, Reporter
Tavish Brodie is a first year reporter for the Wolfpacket who has fallen down the Speech and Debate to Wolfpacket pipeline. When filling out the elective request form, Brodie was caught between Journalism and Photography, intrigued by the creative opportunities that each offered. Ultimately the journalism gods won out in a battle that will ultimately test the limits of Tavish’s creativity and debate honed time management/efficiency in his quest to deliver the highest quality video game reviews CHS has ever known. A linguistic legend, Tavish is enrolling in Spanish 3 as a freshman thanks to his many years of study leading up to high school. This year Brodie is excited to spend time with friends, learn from his cool teachers, and hopes to join the JV volleyball team in the spring. When you see him in the halls, know that our reporter is a chill friendly guy and the Wolfpacket is excited to have him on staff.
