Homecoming King Chandler Bolding
Riding his mo-ped scooter, building a trap shack, consuming ridiculous amounts of Fry Burgers from Burger King, and taking impromptu jogs from friends houses at 1 a.m. are just a few of the things that makes Chandler Walter Boldig the unique individual he is. Boldig has been a member of CHS’ baseball team since freshman year, the president of the Wiffle Ball Club, and a part of the Teens for Troops club since junior year. Boldig is very outgoing and enjoys talking to new people. He is a very easygoing guy and will always be willing to go on an spontaneous adventure.
“My personal motto is Jah Irie, which means the ultimate Rastafarian lifestyle that is full of happiness and satisfaction,” Boldig said.
To live up to his personal motto, Boldig designed the “Trap Shack”, a handmade building made out of plywood, tarps, and brush. Boldig and his friends built the Trap Shack in the middle of the wilderness with a view of the San Gabriel mountains, so they could have a safe haven to hang out in.
“My friends and I got a lot of satisfaction out of building it from scratch and seeing our hard work pay off,” Boldig said. “We really enjoyed hanging out in it and that is exactly what the Jah Irie lifestyle is all about.”
In addition to being out in nature, Boldig also enjoys making sandwiches. As far back as he can remember, Boldig has been in the kitchen cooking something. He has experimented with many different ingredients and has developed a unique style.
“In 10 years, I want to open a little sandwich shop called Chandwiches,” Boldig said. “I have always been in the kitchen cooking something up so this has sort of been a lifelong dream of mine.”
Since Boldig has always been a very social guy and has always enjoyed cooking for other people, it would be a very good idea to pursue a career in the culinary field. Chandwiches would be a small of restaurant where he would have a personal relationship with all his customers.
Boldig has loved his time at Claremont High School. He has made unforgettable memories with his friends on and off school, and does not regret anything. Boldig’s only advice to underclassmen is to have a lot of fun, but get good grades. Lastly, Boldig wanted to give a shout out to all his boys, his family, and most of all, his beloved dog Kylie.
