Norway
This summer, I visited Denmark, Sweden, and Norway in Northern Europe with my family for three weeks. We traveled a total of 1,716 kilometers in Scandinavia.
The driving journey up the Norwegian coast consisted of enchanting views of fjords and lakes. One stop was Bergen, a popular tourist city that is famous for its Mount Floyen funicular, which offers breathtaking city views from the summit. My family and I drove on Trollstigen, a famous road with 11 hairpin turns. We also stopped in Geiranger, which had a skywalk which viewed a fjord from approximately 4,921 feet above sea level.
Something surprising about Norway was the sheer amount of fish present in restaurants and markets. In a traditional restaurant, there were few choices not containing fish. A highlight of my trip was the scenic routes we took. I spent much time taking photos of the countryside, where sheep roamed and waterfalls cascaded.
My reason for wanting to go to Scandinavia was because I wanted to have a taste of Norwegian culture. While at often times I found myself thoroughly exhausted, it was a vacation that I ultimately will never forget.
