People Should Look Toward Religion to Achieve a Healthy Life
Whether it is a loved one dying or losing a job, people go through many trials, and religion can be one of the ways to combat those trials. Religion can help students in their day to day lives, whether it is self-control, which can impact and help one’s social life and health, or being part of a community.
Religion can improve self-control and the ability to talk easily to a group of peers, which is a valuable skill in life. If the student is more socially involved, they can develop lifelong skills that can help them speak amongst their peers, talk to a group of people, and develop leadership skills.
Everybody wants to be healthy, both mentally and physically. Suffering from a physical, mental, or terminal illnesses can bring depression and rash thoughts. According to Psychology Today, religion can increase an optimistic view on life, as religion gives the ability to rely on both the community, morals, and deities. Being able to feel more optimistic can increase blood flow to the brain, which is important for students because it can improve concentration.
Another benefit is health; most religions discourage the use of alcohol, drugs, tobacco, and other harmful substances. People will be less likely to drink, do drugs, or smoke, which are dangerous health risks that can damage the student both mentally and physically, along with impacting their future.
Some people do not think religion is a good idea because they see it as the cause of many altercations, such as 9/11, which was caused by Islamic extremists, or previous religious leaders, who denounced homosexual relationships and marriages. However, religion also been the basis for morals and ethics in countless people’s lives.
Religious organizations focus on helping other people and do their best to try and avoid self-serving behavior. Most people involved in religious organizations are regularly involved in religious activities and are often active in aiding others such as the homeless, children, contributing to the environment, spreading awareness and promoting good morality.
There are approximately 4,200 religions in the world. The broad variety of religions mean that there is likely to be one that is well matched for everyone. This provides people with a sense of security, happiness and freedom, and there are many benefits that come with being part of a religious group, like being more involved and giving people a more optimistic view in life, and joining together with a group to help support ailing people, animals, and the environment will not only contribute to the world, but to everyone’s morality and contentment. In the eyes of many, religion is an appealing and useful aspect of life that holds many benefits, one of these being the idea that it can aid in the construction and maintainence of a healthy and cordial lifestyle.
