Grace Wright: spontaneous charm, quiet confidence, and steady kindness make her stand out. She is authentically herself. If she were a color, she would be iridescent; if she were a song, she would be one by “The Marías”; and if she were an animal, she would be a turtle.
However, Wright is anything but a turtle at school— she is always moving from one activity to another. Wright is an AP Scholar and holds leadership roles in ArtStART, Hispanic Honors Society, and Clay Club. When Grace thinks back to her high school career— one she describes as “Yikes, Yippee, Yay!”— she offers a jewel of wisdom to readers.
“Just thug it out, keep going, keep turning in that work, do not let your grades slack,” Wright said.
While her goal for the remainder of the year is to follow through with this advice, Wright remains open to her plans following graduation, ecstatic for a fresh start. She hopes to attend a four-year university, minor in Spanish to become completely fluent, and discover new places. As for a career, she is certain in centering it around helping people.
“I just want to be of service to other people,” Wright said. “That […]is very motivating to me.”
Sending love and good fortune to all who voted for her to become a semi-finalist, Wright makes a promise,
“If I win homecoming royalty, I will donate ten inches of my hair,” Wright said. “This is my vow.” Whether or not she wins, Wright’s promise is a testament to her bright and full-of-life spirit and why she is a worthy candidate for Homecoming Royalty 2025.
