If you have ever thought you saw an 80’s rock star in the halls of Claremont High School, it was probably Moxie Moore. With their leather jacket, guitar, and love for music Moore is 100% vintage. This rock star is taking the stage on homecoming court.
Moore fell in love with theater at the beginning of high school, and their passion continues to grow.
“As a freshman, I just wanted to be in the shows, and I didn’t think that I would be any more involved,” Moore said. “Then I was like, I’ll work as a lighting crew. And I started working in a bunch of crews and auditioning for all the shows.”
Currently Moore takes Musical Theater and Advanced Theater classes at CHS and is a thespian officer for CHS‘s thespian troop 2129. That being said Moore’s real passion lies in on-camera acting and filmmaking, recently starring in “As the Sun Goes Down”, a personal project for their aspiring director friends.
Beyond their love for the arts Moore is quite the academic weapon, boosting a five on the AP physics exam. Although STEM may come naturally, the real gift is their striking sense of humor and bewitching personality. Their advice for fellow students? “Over the course of your high school experience, you will figure out who you are,” Moore said. “Honestly, if you don’t think that you were kind of lame, a couple of years in the future, you didn’t grow up.”
Moore is thrilled to be part of the homecoming court; they wish to not only represent theater but any other niche, artistic students ready to make their mark on CHS.
