Claremont High School (CHS) has a new Spanish 1 and 2 teacher: Cinthea Rivera. She is very passionate about her career and excited to teach. Rivera already loves CHS. “I came to CHS because it’s a beautiful campus, which was what initially caught my eye,” Rivera said. “CHS really values education, so I knew I’d be somewhere where educators would come together to give students the best education they can.”
Rivera knew she wanted to teach Spanish beginning in college. “I really love all subjects, and in college, I realized it was perfect for me since it covered a lot of different subjects and is interdisciplinary,” Rivera said.
Rivera’s previous teaching experiences have been positive; she always connected well with her students and built good relationships with them. She wants her students to know that she is approachable and always there to help them, but that she is serious about using class time well. Rivera is looking forward to her students using more Spanish in the classroom as she continues to teach them throughout the year. She gives all of her students one piece of advice. “I always want to tell students that the sky’s the limit,” Rivera said. “You can accomplish all your dreams.”
