One of our newest faculty members this year at Claremont High School is Daniel Romero Jr., an Education Specialist and CHS alumnus. Romero started as a substitute teacher but is now an Education Specialist for Physical Science and Biology. He enjoys teaching these subjects because they include hands-on learning as well as aids for visual learners.
Romero received his master’s degree in Communications from the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa, where he also served as a Graduate Assistant for the Women’s Basketball Team. Then, he attained his multiple-subject credential and Education Specialist degree from California State University, Long Beach.
Romero tries to stay active, playing a variety of sports. He hopes to see how successful CHS is in all its sports. Romero is already excited about the future of his educational career. “I look forward to seeing how I can grow as an educator,” Romero said. “I just have a lot of primary experience at elementary schools; now I’m building some secondary experience working in high schools.”
