Welcome to Claremont High School’s newest counselor, Kaylie Silva. Silva works with students with last names starting with Smj-Z. This is her first year at Claremont High School, despite having plenty of past experience in counseling. 

Starting as an elementary school counselor, Silva has wanted to shift over to the high school level of counseling. “Being a school counselor, I come from an elementary background, but my goal was always to get to high school,” Silva said.

Silva turned to the counseling profession because of her own positive experience with her high school counselor. She is already seeing the impact she can have on her students. 

“So far, I like the feeling of helping students get to where [they] want to go,” Silva said. “Having those conversations really helped me with those decisions and do what’s best for me. So, I want to help be that person for someone else.”
