High school is never easy. But just like fixing a car, or hitting a PR on the bench, Isaac Fang is up to the challenge. He has been a student at CHS four years at this point, and is finally taking the next step in his life. Easily visible in a crowd, Fang is frequently found in his classic hat and flannel combo, complimenting his tall and muscular build. On his way out, Fang has spent some time reminiscing about the time he has spent at CHS, and has shared some of the things he would like to pass on to the rest of the student body. A way to carry on the legacy Fang is leaving behind come June.
A little bit of context is necessary for Fang, as he is an incredibly interesting person with a detailed past. Years ago, Fang endured a battle with cancer that ended with an amputation of a large portion of his left leg. This has not deterred Fang, however, as he still manages to find success in every aspect of life. Physically, Fang has put hours and hours into the gym, becoming one of the strongest people CHS has seen. He has gotten his driver’s license, and can frequently be found tearing up the roads in a blue SUV.
For many, it is difficult to choose a favorite memory in high school. For Fang, however, one event jumps to mind. A few years ago, there was a ‘riot’ on Claremont High campus that lives on in infamy. The Playboy Carti Riot was chaos, and resulted in many students being suspended. Fang says that being on campus in the 600’s quad when the chaos ensued was definitely his favorite memory from high school.
Fang is set to attend Azusa Pacific University, with the aim to practice kinesiology. After finishing his time there, Fang hopes to attend a two year program for prosthetics, helping him achieve his goal of creating prosthetic limbs as a full time job.
Unpacking four years of memories is and always will be difficult, Fang knows what he liked most about high school. Although the grades are important, and the knowledge is very useful, he realizes what he appreciates most.
“The best part is the people,” Fang said.
Fang would like to shout out his friends for making his high school experience unforgetful.
“Shoutout to Jose Rojas, River Chizar, Benjamin House, and Daniel Zuber, Tyler Clark, Jackson Clark, Billy Barnes, Liam Bundy, Ryder Downshaw, Lyle Miderios, Brandi Hamson, Garry Boner, Icy B., Boodhi Circello, and Zion Edwards”
