Frances, CFO of the playground and queen of her own Shopkins empire, made from the ground her with her friends. Ever since a young age, Heitkemper has been an ambitious spirit destined for numerical greatness; backed by her parents’ mathematical and finance background, she was pushed towards the field of math and finance. Heitkemper plans to attend Haverford in Pennsylvania, where she intends to double major in mathematics and economics.
Ever since Heitkemper was in elementary school, she knew that she wanted to work closely to the field of mathematics. During the treacherous and isolating years of COVID, her passion was solidified through falling down a rabbit hole of online learning.
As Heitkemper looks to the future, she sets her sights on becoming a Chief Financial Officer, or CFO. This is a role that Heitkemper finds empowering and exciting because it is similar to a CEO but with a specific focus on managing a company’s finances. Franny’s interest in finance was sparked in part by her dad’s work in the finance field and her own growing curiosity about managing money and understanding financial systems. She thinks being a CFO would be a fun job that combines leadership, responsibility, and strategy.
“I was bored, so I just started doing a lot of math.,” Heitkemper said. “I think that’s when I really started to excel—I had all this time and ended up finishing the math classes at school early, which is why I’m now taking classes at Pomona College.”
When Heitkemper is not in the math world, she is an International Baccalaureate (IB) powerhouse. It is not a surprise that her favorite IB class was math. She even wrote a seventeen-page research paper solely on the subject of math. Besides writing extensive research papers, Heitkemper is a recreational exercise enthusiast. From doing yoga, to going to the gym, to running a humble marathon in honor of her mother’s fiftieth birthday, Heitkemper is a doer.
Heitkemper has come a long way from the little girl that was playing with Shopkins with friends, to an intelligent and ambitious young woman; she is well along her journey into the future. Her bright and bold presence will be missed here at CHS as she sets off for her marathon of a journey to the East Coast and beyond.
