A fixture of the Varsity Tennis team, William Smith continues to impress on and off the court. Smith is set to attend UC Davis with a major in biomedical engineering. Davis stood out among the many choices due to its prolific history and stellar biology and medical programs. Smith plans to spend quality time with his family living in Germany this summer reminiscing on memories before embarking on his new stage in life. As for his ultimate goal in life, Smith hopes to make a positive impact on the world.
“How exactly I’ll do that, I’ll get back to you on… probably never, because I doubt anyone will do a “four years later” for this piece” said Smith.
At CHS, Smith is an integral member of the Tennis Team, Speech and Debate, and Orchestra. Hisexperiences in various extracurricular activities has given him lots of outlooks that he would like to share with current and incoming highschoolers.
“Look for stuff to do outside of classes that you’re willing to put the time and effort in to get good at, and that you enjoy,” Smith said.It doesn’t matter as much whether you’re spectacular or not, just that you’re willing to put in effort over a long time – especially for college essays.”
A memory that stands out fondly is laughing in Mrs. Kusano’s class for ten minutes. He would also like to shout Mr. Easton, Mr. Carrillo, Mr. Tucker and Mrs. Herbert for helping him with college applications. He would also like to thank Mrs. Kusano for “putting up with him being too loud for two years” and Mr. Thomas for his Deep-Thought Thursdays and High-Five Fridays.
Whether it’s in Germany or the US, the Wolfpacket wishes him the best of luck as he transitions to his next life stage.
