You know him. A fierce performer in every sense of the word, Avan Bisono is leaving to the East Coast to further pursue his dreams in the film industry and acting. During his time at Claremont, he has been a leader, supporter, and shoulder that has brightened the minds and days of those around him. For every theater show, there is an opportunity to see him shine; those who had the opportunity to witness his talents in action on stage leave in awe..
Naturally, Bisono has been a part of countless productions in choir and theater throughout his upstarting career. His favorite production has been the Little Shop of Horrors, due to its spirited and whimsical nature.
He wishes to leave behind some keen advice for those who wish to begin on their journeys in whatever field they choose.
“Just try your best to apply yourself and be involved,” Bisono said. “Never forget to enjoy yourself and have fun.”
Fun, of course, is one of Avan’s defining qualities. Never sparing a moment to make a clever jeer or witty retort, his memories also intertwine with his natural sense of humour.
“My favorite highschool moment was the freshman year Carti concert,” Bisono said.
If you asked what the freshman year Carti concert was, you are in for a treat if you ask anybody to tell you the story. Stories much like this reflect Avan’s mindset: not everything is about the future, and living in the moment allows us to cherish the memories we have now.
Looking forward, the future is also bright for Avan. Heading to the east coast and double majoring in acting and film, Avan is seeking to uplift those around him and continue to be a positive force in the industry. Community is one of the most important factors in any story, and Avan hopes that he can give back to others what he was given in community as well. On the East Coast, Avan is looking forward to spending time with his family and making new friends.
Lastly, while pursuing his dreams in college may be sweet, he will never forget those who supported him to get there.
“I want to thank Frida Rivera, Gus Kraatz, Leo Cheng, Shaw Siegel and Corrie Alamillo,” Bisono said.
The memories Avan has made will remain with him forever, and he looks forward to making new memories, friends, and achievements in the future.
