Position: Editor-in-Chief, aka Wolfpacket Supreme Leader (this is definitely not a dictatorship)

Years on staff: 4!

Off to: Princeton University

Major: Molecular Biology, with a potential minor in Math

Likes: Reading, making balloon animals, unicycling, board games, dried mango, going off on tangents about science to my family, InDesign, procrastination, working at 1am

Dislikes: Allergies, a lack of board game afternoons, waking up after going to bed past 1am

What I’ll Miss: Late Night, designing Wolfpacket front pages (personal favorites: theatre and solar eclipse), boba from Late Night, seeing my friends around campus, running around with walkie talkies at Oktoberfest and CCF, doing math problems in an empty physics classroom during third period…

Thanks to: Mrs. Lee and Frau Tsai for being amazing role models and for helping me become the person I am today. Also, many thanks to Mr. Carrillo for letting me hang out three periods a day (and for the many Expo markers sacrificed to the whiteboards + letting me scare period four), and to Prof. Benjamin at Mudd for making me fall in love with math this year!

Shoutouts to: Everyone in SHAMMY (you’re the best!), 4th grade Halloween trick-or-treating, Taka and Riyo (my little siblings), all of the wonderful people from Juku at Karlsruhe (I miss you all), the new Wolfpacket EICs (you got this), and my fantastic AP Chem group (100% yield, always)

Sage Advice: Learn how to make balloon animals and you’re all set in life. But seriously, if you pretend to be confident, it works out pretty well

Hello there! Our goal is to provide relavent, engaging journalism for readers of all ages. Your donation will support the student journalists of the Wolfpacket at Claremont High School, and will allow us to purchase equipment, print our monthly issues, and enter in journalism competitions. Mayo Ou, Head Editor-in-Chief

Mayo Ou is the Head Editor-in-Chief of the Wolfpacket and a senior at CHS in her fourth year on the staff. Her goal this year, other than not procrastinating on her college applications, is to figure out how to keep the Wolfpacket functioning and in print with her fellow EICs and the business team. Her passion on the paper is graphic design, but having previously been business and website manager as well as Head News Editor for two years means she knows (and loves) every part of the process. Outside of the Wolfpacket, Ou is the president of German club and Women in STEM, a captain of the cross-country team, runs and pole vaults in track and field, volunteers at the Botanic Gardens, and leads a chapter of KidzCoding, a nonprofit that teaches children how to code. In her nonexistent free time, she likes to read, unicycle, make balloon animals, and chat with her friends, both from Claremont and around the world. She hopes to help everyone have a great year in Wolfpacket!
