Avan Bisono is an artsy senior who loves albino African bullfrogs, swimming, fishing, and Cane’s sauce. A fine arts geek, who especially enjoys theater and choir, Bisono is the president of the Thespian Troupe and a section leader in the Chamber Singers. He is in particular most proud of his role in playing Seymour in the CHS play “Little Shop of Horrors.”
For Bisono, being on Homecoming Court is incredibly special to him, especially participating in the parade and competing alongside his friend, Gus Kraatz.
“The parade is the coolest part, I think, and I’m happy about that,” Bisono said. “Having my friend Gus also on the Homecoming Court is also so special to me, and we both really want to win.”
After many years of enjoying theater and everything that surrounds it, Bisono hopes to attend the University of Michigan, the University of Cincinnati, or Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles to get a bachelor’s degree in fine arts. He is pursuing a career in the performing arts because of his passion for it and the special connection with audiences he is able to create.
As a senior, Bisono has some words of advice for younger students, specifically the freshmen.
“Definitely just have fun,” Bisono said. “I know it’s so cliche, but it really does happen so fast. I literally cannot believe I’m a senior.”
When asked if he could have any superpower, Bisono had an intriguing response.
“I would choose condiment fingers,” Bisono said. “So out of my pointer finger I could shoot mustard, out of my middle finger I could shoot ketchup, and the next one mayonnaise, the next, relish. My thumb would be Cane’s Sauce, and then on my left hand, I would have peanut butter and jelly.”
Bisono would love to give a special shout-out to his friend and fellow homecoming court member: the GOAT, Gus Kraatz!
