The same way Kori Epling has led the cheer team with energy and heart, she has brought that same passion to everything she does at CHS—including her place on the 2024 Homecoming Court. Whether it is rallying the crowd at games or serving in ASB, Epling’s dedication to school spirit has made her a standout among her peers.
As a four-year member of the cheer program, Epling’s journey has been nothing short of impressive. She is a captain of both the varsity competitive and sideline cheer teams, with her favorite memory at CHS being the competition cheer team winning their first national title last year.
Looking to the future, Epling plans to attend a four-year university. She wants to major in kinesiology and possibly minor in sports media. Epling is especially interested in a career related to physical therapy. At the center of her heart, her family holds a special place in her life. With the unwavering support of her parents, she feels confident in following her dreams. She also wants to thank her cheer coach, Coach Nosa, for always supporting her.
Before she ventures into the world to make her mark, Epling has some tips from her experience in high school. Some advice she would like to leave for freshmen is mainly to advocate for themselves.
“Whether it’s in sports, clubs, class, whatever it be, if you need help on something then get the help you need,” Epling said. “If you want to change your grade about something, then say something and just advocate for yourself because it is definitely worth it to not stay quiet.”
Further proven by her place on Homecoming Court, Epling’s legacy at CHS is one of success and determination. With her leadership, spirit, and dedication, Kori Epling is sure to make a lasting impact both at CHS and beyond.
