Coming with a pep in his step and groovy music along with it, Leo Cheng takes his nomination for homecoming court in stride. Cheng is perhaps the most honest “politician” of this year’s homecoming race. His advice for voting, even when it came to himself, was simple.
“I mean… vote for me because you like me and if you do not like me, do not vote for me,” Cheng said. “You should vote for me if you think I’m a cool guy.”
Throughout his participation in the CHS community, Cheng has strived to create a place where anybody can feel included. As president of the Best Buddies club, he seeks to create a more inclusive society that can reach beyond the depths of his community.
Cheng also comes with a musical twang. As a member of the CHS choir, he expresses his love for music by singing and playing the guitar. He has consistently performed in choir throughout high school, being featured in many different productions both with and without the help of CHS.
Outside of being involved in his community and choir, Cheng has never lacked the drive to be an exceptional student. Studying to maintain his academic excellence, Cheng was nominated by administration, staff, students, and teachers to receive the “Most Inspirational Student” award during both the 2023 and 2024 school year.
Despite his successes, Cheng seems to stay down to Earth. In his nomination for homecoming court, he has managed to remain humble and grateful.
“It’s exciting to get to experience something like this,” Cheng said. “I will try to make the most of what this experience is like.”
If you choose to follow Cheng’s honest advice, it is safe to say many won’t shy away from voting for the integrity that Leo Cheng brings to the 2025 homecoming court.
