As ASB president, Mollie Chou has always worked to help others – whether it be planning school events or volunteering, her passion for goodwill is evident. As a star member of the CHS varsity tennis team, she thrives on the court, and has been playing on the team for the past three years. This year, she is proud to hold the title of team captain.
“It’s been super fun to play tennis,” Chou said. “I love playing doubles with my sister.”
Chou is also very involved within her church. She leads the kid’s choir and engages in many other activities there. She was happy to get the chance to direct one of their musicals, “Agape League,” this past summer. Chou’s favorite Bible verse is “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me,” from Philippians 4:13. Chou is also an active member of the CHS community, such as being the president of CHS Key Club, a student-led and international community service organization. She has also founded her own club, “Cookies for Compassion,” through which she and her friends have created over 100 hygiene care packages for the homeless through different bake sales.
“I love serving the community through Claremont,” Chou said. “It’s been a great way to outreach and get to know the community.”
When she’s not busy with all of her extracurriculars, Chou loves relaxing at the beach. In fact, if she could have a superpower, she would choose the ability to fly so she could go to the beach every day.
Chou shared her advice for freshmen based on her four years of high school experience.
“Be involved and get plugged in,” Chou said. “Try clubs, sports, honestly just try everything. I think being involved has made my high school experience really enjoyable.”
As one of the finalists for this year’s homecoming court, Chou would like to thank God for blessing her with the most supportive and loving family and friends.
