Homecoming Prince Gideon Yabaki
Homecoming prince Gideon Yabaki is honored that he has been selected as a member of this year’s esteemed court. A caring, energetic, and optimistic student, Yabaki is involved with numerous activities such as ASB and the choral department on campus.
For the last three years, Yabaki has been a leading member of the CHS Chamber Singers. Yabaki committed himself to the choral department due to his passion for singing and desire to improve his musicianship.
“Don’t take anything for granted, because in a second, it could be gone,” said Yabaki.
Yabaki plans on attending Citrus College for two years, and then he hopes to transfer to UCLA where he will pursue his passion in economics and most likely major in it. Yabaki’s interest in economics stemmed from his class in which he enthusiastically learned about the economy and the decisions society makes. Ten years from now, Yabaki envisions himself finished with college, working a steady job, looking for a house, and thinking about starting a family with his girlfriend to whom he is engaged to.
Yabaki’s commitment to ASB, the choral department, and CHS as a whole makes him a fantastic finalist and feels that he will be adding his selection as one of the homecoming court finalists to the multitude of high school memories he has created. It is safe to say that Yabaki will be cheered by all of his fellow peers as he sits atop the senior homecoming float, wearing the title he earned by being a hard-worker, an optimist, and a friend to many.
