The Wolfpacket

Kevin Glavin
Kevin Glavin has been the Wolfpacket adviser for 6 1/2 years. Mr. Glavin’s ancestors hail from the Emerald Isle; his surname can be traced back to the Gaelic Gláimhin, meaning “satirist.” He grew up mostly in the Midwest, where he studied journalism, before changing majors and earning his BA in English and MAT in English Education from the University of Iowa. Then, like his forefathers, he sashayed westward, where he eventually settled with his family in Orange County, California. He has been honored to teach many amazing students over the past 20 years, at the elementary, high school, and collegiate levels, in the United States and abroad, but mostly in Claremont, California. In December 2009, Kevin formed his own publishing company to learn the entire art of bringing a book to market, in print and digitally, and to maintain creative freedom. After much work, his literary satire, “Rock Star’s Rainbow,” was finally published, which was named to Kirkus Reviews’ Best of 2011 list. In 2012, he wrote “All The Things You’ll Do,” his first children’s book, collaborating with illustrator Sarah Grepo, a Claremont High alumna. He is currently at work on a detective novel called "The Lost Lenore," the first book in the "No Shirt Sherlock" series. Set in Orange County, California, it is due out in 2019.

“I enjoy serving as the Wolfpacket adviser, encouraging the dedicated students to achieve their vision of what a great high school newspaper should be,” Glavin said. "This paper is in its 88th year, and I'm happy to be a small part of keeping this incredibly important tradition going, as students continue to exercise their First Amendment rights."
