Once fall rolls around, several theme parks in Southern California do more than decorate for the Halloween season. Some parks are entirely transformed into a terrifying nightmare-fest where the scares never stop and the screams are never silent. These Halloween events are extremely popular, especially with teenagers and young adults. The Wolfpacket took to Twitter to ask students which of these three Halloween overlays was the scariest. 88 students responded.

Knott’s Scary Farm

Since 1973, Knott’s Scary Farm has given thousands of parkgoers nightmares to last for generations. When the sun goes down and Snoopy and Charlie Brown go to bed, costumed monsters roam the park, and mazes are scattered throughout with jumpscares around every corner.

Six Flags Fright Fest

The rollercoasters at Six Flags Magic Mountain only get scarier during Six Flags Fright Fest. Some coasters are given a complete Halloween overhaul, some set in complete darkness, and characters from the “Saw” franchise and DC’s “Suicide Squad” are available for meet-and-greets.

Halloween Horror Nights

Aimed at mostly teenagers and young adults, Universal Studios Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights celebration consists of several haunted houses and mazes themed to horror movies and TV shows including “The Shining,” “The Purge,” and “The Walking Dead.” Halloween Horror Nights is the most immersive and realistic of the three Halloween events, and the scares feel genuine and authentic, almost as if the scariest horror movies have come to life before your eyes.
